Yes, fishing has made it's way into pirates. All of you can finally spend hours waiting for the illusive fish to take a bite of your rod. I really love fishing games, maybe i'm just a freak, but they are awesome.

Check out my haul from a few mins ago.

Thats a load of little fish, a sawfish, a swordfish, a lobster, a flatfish and two eels. There are 23 different fish you can catch in pirates. Maybe one day someone will catch them all, that will be a most glorious day. :)

Weeeeeeeeeeee, I can't wait to show you some more catches.

Yay! But can we catch something what a "little far from fish"? You know, the old boot, treasure chest... or extremely rare Elvis Presley vinyl.  jk  :D

But really, why not? ))

Git.  :P

You're going to have to put that on the preview now.
I'm not even going to bother contemplating how you did that.

Edit: I made a Zandery kind of fish for Warhammer mod if you fancy using it. It looks like you've got enough already though.

hm. The Master Baiter has been busy, I see  ;)
Watch where you aim yer rod, matey, ye'll poke me eye out!
I only gots one eyepatch, an one good eye..

Lost the other one to your Sea Men, y'see (nah, jk, they be in RPGmod)

heh.

anyway, how 'bout an incredibly rare message in a bottle? it could..
1.start a 'scavenger hunt' quest or something. vague, riddly clues, arr! find a 2-headed, peg-tailed, frackin' monkey!
2.contain an ancient scroll. does nothing. then, one night, whilst trying to update ze capn's log, you nod off, causing a shuriken to miss yer head by a coupla centimetres! you know what that means!
3.have nothing important inside, like the deed to a Profitable Duck Farm, or something. ah, nevermind..

perhaps a usable fish..

Fishing...

Genius...

Psychotic, but genius. ::)

I guess that will more or less take care of the otherwise large food bill associated with a shipload of scurvy pirates.  Provided, of course, that one has the patience for such.  Might not be great for morale ... after 37 days of eating eel, the crew might be getting close to their limit.  (Never much cared for eel, personally.  Flatfish is not bad, but eel gets old in a hurry.)

----------------
And on that last one, you find message bottles on the beach ... there's no way to accidentally hook one.

"Look ... a message in a bottle!"
"Well, read it!  What does it say?"
"No deposit ... dispose of properly."

You dare question my fishable mystery message bottles, yet say nothing about me 2-headed, peg-tailed, frackin' monkey.

Wow.
Ye really *have* seen quite a lot..
(I can't even tell a regular monkey from a frackin' one) :)

-Psychotic, but genius.  ::) ? That be teh FishLord,  aye.

Anywho, on the bottles, they be not of yer avrage tsingtao bottle, mate. They be..  uh.. those.. um.. jug-things, yea, with the uh.. ear thingie, yep.
Plus, they be.. mysterious.. an stuff.

so there. I hope I've made meself clear on that.

Good, because Tsingtao Beer bottles don't float worth a damn.

Yeah, I've seen a lot.  Saw a picture of a two-headed monkey once ... siamese twin born in some zoo.  It didn't live long.  There's a two-headed calf wandering around somewhere in China that DID survive infancy, made the papers a month or so ago.  So, a two-headed peg-tailed monkey didn't seem as unlikely as managing to accidentally hook a floating jug with a fishing line.

Now, getting the monkey to give you the clue could be an issue.  Monkeys usually just steal your lunch.

Same is true of pirates, now that I think about it.

So, do pirates fish, or do they steal fish from people who do? Can I order my men to fish if they don't like the current grub?  >:D

Well, if you encounter a fisherman you can demand he gives you all his fish and then attack him. It might be cool if I make the fisherman troop able to catch fish randomly as well. A little like having a ship's cook!

Ummmmm... wow.

Are those fish edible and tradeable, or do they just kind of pile up on the docks for fun?

Edible being relative.  Wouldn't want to try to eat a puffer fish or something.
