Minor Mods subforums
« on: February 18, 2007, 10:50:41 AM »
I'm considering creating subforums in Minor Mods for some of the mods which don't qualify as Major Mods but are still receiving heavy development and traffic.

To you, I leave the vote. Yae or nay?

Averagely,
Winter

I'm not sure. Schattenlander, for example, is probably receiving enough intrest to utilise a subforum but I think that it is fairly major mod anyway and in my humble opinion should receive a subforum in the major mods area. I suppose it depends on where you draw the line between a major and a minor mod.

Yea, what exactly is the criteria for being a major/minor mod? Maybe you just need to have  stricter definitions of the two and then the problem will work itself out. I would think of minor mods as something like the inventory chest locator, or the all mounted or all infantry mods. But like wood says, Shattenlander as well as the The Perennial Nuisance are pretty large projects that are adding a lot of things and they are both in the minor mod section and could both probably benefit from subforums.

nay,
Even if there are about 8 pages, the thread poster can still keep it organized by editing the first post.
On the other handsite, it is very usefull to be the moderated to save the thread from spamming or to edit several unimportant posts to one.

Aye, both Schatenlander and PN deserve to be labeled major upon release.. they're both huge total conversions...

I'd just quote my post for the third time, but you do say something that makes sense. Unlike some people here! XD

Nay.

I prefer a functional definition, myself - if a mod evokes so much discussion that multiple topics are engendered, then it's a major mod, QED, problem solved.

Otherwise the differentiation between a major mod with subforum and minor mod with subforum becomes a ridiculous exercise in hair-splitting.

I agree with Scion. There's already enough segregation as it is.
