Any crash messages?

Nope.
Only the system message that says the program is closed, but without more information.
I started a new game with a different character, this time I was near Erebor, it happened again.
It seems that after the save is corrupt, however, occurs just did an auto-save.
Using IronLauncher.

Wait, what?! The save gets corrupted after a crash this early?

(that may, among other things, mean that something we did to prevent the 200+ day bug actually amplifies it. Interesting. Alas, I can't do anything about it, only the coders.)

I was afraid we would get more crashes with this update. A possible cause can be the much increased music content, especially size - we went from 70 Mbs to 250 Mbs, and how MB handles that is suspect.
If you remember what it does with compressed sounds and how it mismanages memory there, and think about all the compressed music we now have, it is possible it burns a lot more memory now.
This can be verified to some extent - if you get a crash just before the game would normally start playing a new music track.

Otherwise, if you get a crash, please post the last lines of your rgl_log.txt, especially if it says "error" somewhere. This file can be found in the Mount and Blade root folder.

I got no errors in the rgl_log, the last entry is "launch completed".

EDIT: I have to correct myself, I also got the errors/warnings Elgalas mentions

I have the same problem : I'm on day 38, war began like 2 days before, I'm near Halbarad's host, between Serin Dolen and Rivendell Camp. At the moment of the save, I was just quitting Halbarad after speaking with him (it was an autosave). Now it always crashes 1 sec after I move, and I get the "Visual studio just in time debugging"

Also I found these errors in the rgl_log.txt :

Hmmm..sounds bad. Try turning off music and see if it still crashes.

Same here. I'm at day 9 and I play as a Dunedain; i'm near Imladris camp and the game will crash after some seconds if I move towards any direction OR if I enter a settlement; it crashes even if I press the spacebar and wait on the map but NOT if I browse the menus, look at my inventory etc...

The last thing I did was accepting the "bring us some food" quest from the Rivendell Camp quartermaster.

EDIT: here's the last line in my rlg_log file:

If you feel adventurous, you can turn the music off in the game options and see if that helps. Not sure if MB is smart enough not to load the music files if the music is off, so it's a stab in the dark.
Ninja'd by Merl :).

This really does sound like another music track starting overflows the memory. :/ That scripting bugfix preventing from music tracks changing too fast might help, or it may not.

Dammit.

One problem im having is that when i go to new areas on the map it does not show the name. It would say, for example, str shortname region, Isengard. Also, whenever i try to recruit characters It shows shows story reply instead of words.  Is there a way to fix this?

This sounds like a bad install, or something to that effect. Tried to replicate, but both issues are working correctly for me.

Lowering the music volume doesn't seem to work for me, is there a way to make the game NOT even load the music before launching it? A line in a .ini file, perhaps?

To turn off the music you must select it from the menu in the launcher "configure".
I find it horrible to have to do after all the work of Pagan, so I'll wait a patch.

I disabled the music but the crash still occurs, our do I have to start a new game to test this?

I'm not totally sure, but I opened the rgl_log.txt before, for the same error, and I didn't see it.
I also tried again and it no longer appears in the rgl_log.Txt

Ok, guys, here's the first hotfix - just extract the two files into the mod folder:
http://www.gamefront.com/files/21265447/TLD_3.1_hotfix_1.7z

This fixes the frequent music switching (a bug that nobody complained about yet), but may be connected to crashes, assuming MB loads many tracks in a short period, rapidly consuming the available memory and crashing. It's a theory at the moment, until you prove it or disprove it by testing this stuff for us (thanks, btw :)).
It is save compatible.

If you still get crashes, try exiting the game completely and restarting, then loading your save - it may help.
