Don't think that's gonna happen, those are added in warband, I doubt the team is gonna port them from there. I did that as a corsair landing along the anduin, mostly for the lord of the rings campaign that the fellowship of arda was talking about but I lost intrest.

What are the chances of this mod being released this year?

Me neither until I see a trailer and some screen-shots.

Could it perhaps be that he got pissed off and left since there are so many people who don't appreciate what the dev team is doing?  Hell, after all the moaning around here, I'd have gotten fed up a long time ago and quit.  It's not like these guys are getting paid.

Someone asked a question about release date, reasonable.

DaBlade answered with an honest assessment, reasonable.

Some asshat decides to pointlessly offer his uninformed opinion, unreasonable.

Another person not only agrees with previous asshat, but demands more screenshots
and trailers which take time away from actualy development, very unreasonable

If this is the straw that broke the camel's back, HK50 and cavaron most likely set the release date even farther back because of their unnecessary and rude comments.

I prefer for DaBlade to answer you himself about the details.

For now, assume that he took a temporary break from TLD due to busy real life.

Edit: and no, we are not really bothered much with out-of-line comments on boards. We are working, you know

In the "ancient" days there was talk from AW to place TLD in the open-source area.  He said something about letting all modders use his code after this coming port.  Has the TLD team adopted this stance to the point that they will post the source online after this update?

Thanks

We did not discuss that part yet.
There is a certain appeal to this approach because so much can be done in the coding to make the world more close to what we know as MiddleEarth. Our team does not have nearly enough human resources to do all this coding, hence it is very important to lower entry barriers for new modders (once we release the project as we see it, ofc). We already did a bunch of novelty things too, which would benefit modding community once released :)

I also remember some units being shown in a message from AW.  There were some really neat screenies there of oliphaunts, etc.  Is that still captured within your version or did you guys have to remake those unit models too???

Still such a shame that you had to remake everything...
