You went a bit too far with the breakable weapons issue. As for picking up projectiles, that's a warband feature, not mount&blade's.

About rescued high rank npc's, it should be their decision if they will stay in your party of not, if they do, then it should just be temporary.

Maybe their choices should be based on what territory they are in.
Also, providing them safe escort to a destination of their choice should earn us more favour(or money depending on our choice).

Not at all, I've played a Phyton based game where the weapons could be broken as a shield, and you hate when your weapons break but the immersion feeling it's great... maybe the code can be used, and if you read the book the predominant weapon in any non-dwarf hand was a sword, so with this feature you would need a sword at least as a side weapon to keep fighting, which is coherent with tolkien's work... where EVERYONE has a sword in middle earth...

About the heroes: you can ask them to ride with you if you have enough influence points, i don't think it's necessary to get a "free" high rank companion... you'll get to a point in the game when you just don't know what to do with influence points, I'm playing, on day 73 of the campaign, and already have the mithril armor and the sword of westernesse, a mithril sword for Mablung, and now saving for one for Duilin, (BTW I tweaked the damage in those blades so the companions actually kill something... the AI in .808 sucks...) and mordor it's still very strong after been almost crushed... so if you play it without cheating you'll play long enough to be able to recruit NPC without need of freebies... and it's more fulfilling, again, my personal opinion...

I think it's better that way... don't know the rest... any comments?

warband improved that, maybe you can check out that code...

I know it's Warband feature... but who said it's exclusive?

...What? M&B is created with the module system, not python. Python does the basic leveraging in the engine, if I understand things, but you certainly can't just import a python script into the M&B MS and expect it to work.  :P

Also, it sounds an awful lot like you just want a Warband port. You're just going to have to wait. We aren't going to spend ages trying to backwards port features that would only be half functional in M&B Native. We'll get this version running, then port forward and you can have all your drooly little features.

I don't want a warbad port, i just said a few days ago it sucks, it's just a coincidence that the few thing i would change if i could from the .808 are featured in warband... like some kind of shield deflecting strike (i thought first in a punch, but the kick it's already there...)  and the chance of pick up fallen arrows... cause i played a lot as a ranger of Ithilien and often went out of ammo... (pinned down behind a tree, without a shield, arrows all over, couldn't pick none...) that doesn't mean i want or expect a warband port...

By the way you shouldn't react so dramatically about my Suggestion, it's just that, a suggestion, if you don't like it's fine.... I'm not demanding you to do nothing, just SUGGESTING... maybe you feel some how questioned or attacked by me because as i'm not a native english speaker i must sound somehow imperative or demanding, not my intention...

I didn't think Llew was reacting "dramatically" to your post, Aranvardo; language barriers work both ways, you know... ;)

It might be a coincidence, but I agree your post sounded an awful lot like you wanted a Warband port :P

We'll work on it, eventually.

Look.... the first time i played TLD... about a year ago or so, I first played as a Rohirrim, oh, have in mind that I downloaded M&B with the sole purpose of playing TLD... didn't get any new version till later... when a bought the HEAVY THROWING SPEAR for my Rohirrim hero, first thing that crossed my mind was "too bad you can't toggle between throw /polearm" I was going to suggest that here, before i got warband... can you imagine? if i say that how could i say later i don't want a warband port...
It's not my fault that warband has all those obvious little things that could improve the play, actually the game where i got inspired from to ask about those particular improvements was Blade: Edge of darkness... is a really old game from Spain, i think... but it's a coincidence that all those things i disliked (and i say again, would have changed myself, if i knew how to) appeared in warband which i got, what? ten days ago? it' really amazing, it's like if the got into my mind... but in the global picture it's not the same game... it has flaws in riding, in the fact that you are not any longer "an army of one" like someone said.... you don't get the "hero" feeling you get playing native, which is completely necessary for a LOTR Mod.... look if it depended on me, knowing how to do it... i would have copied & pasted TLD just as it was in a 1.011 version, really... but you, are, judging by the few shots i saw and read here, taking things to a whole new level, and that's great, how could i not suggest those things i saw playing TLD? the fact that they are in warband is meaningless... at least to me, things that didn't save the game from uninstalling BTW...
Since a few days ago I'm playing TLD again, trying to remember the things i thought could be added... that's when i got pinned down for like 15Th time by orcs, and persuaded me to make that suggestion, which is not the 8Th wonder of the world guys, it's just picking up some stupid arrows from the ground... of course it's in warband!!! how couldn't? it's the major miss in 1.011....

Also, it sounds an awful lot like you just want a Warband port. You're just going to have to wait. We aren't going to spend ages trying to backwards port features that would only be half functional in M&B Native. well man, please don't take this in a bad way because i don't know how to express it nicer or i think the word is polite...

I don't care what you do, or how you do it, you don't owe me (or anyone else) nothing, and there's no way i would demand you guys anything, you must have the best time doing this, you're doing it because you can and love what you do... me, like the rest of the people posting here(i think), I'm just adding my little grain of sand (usefull or not, you filter that...) to give you a perspective of what we think could make it even more awsome... read my post guys, never even asked when is the release date... even offered my help, just having a good time reading and suggesting... and when release day comes I'm gonna download it like the rest and enjoy like crazy the work that kept YOUR asses stucked to a chair for hours... how can i or anyone else demand anything from you?

Well that's it... My wife says i like to express myself too much... Look's like she's Right, well, that's just me...  i hope we're cool, thanks for reading and fuck off if you didn't...

     Wish you guys the best...

PS: please don't repply this, people... I'm really out of order here, and i know it... but it's 01:00 AM, i ran out of painkillers for my broken leg so I'm discharging my system right here he he...

     Again, best of luck

We're cool ;)

I see nothing wrong with enthusiastic (kinda) posts like yours. That kind of posts keep this subforum alive, so they're welcome as far as I'm concerned.

Sounds like your wife might be a good influence up on you

I wish you get better soon regarding your broken leg and... take it easy regarding those painkillers :P

i would like to see special units recruitable from lords.

i remember that in the 808 version you could recruit soldiers from the faction leader..

how about recruiting bodyguards of every faction?  (and non recruitable in any other place).

such as rohirrim royal knights... etc...

or these  bodyguards could be special companions lend for some time by the faciton leader (such as galadriel).

so they wear  factio narmour, are named, and when the quest/time is finished,  you have to return them to the lady/lord.

that would make double sense.

Yes, each unit is supposed to serve their own faction. So a permanent service for foreign units should be really exeptional, like the companions.

We already had bodyguards kind of units in the old version; you'd get them whenever you'd reach the top rank in any faction. You'd get 6 or 10 of them, can't remember right now. They could not be replaced, so you'd better keep them alive.

I dont wanna mess your work up but i think you guys should make a percentage progress of the work you've done so far so people will have some thought on when the mod will be released and will wait depending on to that time
