You'll have to have M&B version .751, because it's not yet compatible with .808.

Sorry.

If it's just a leader class you want, you can rescue captured captains and lieutenants, though you can't train em.

And part of the reason you can't train them, if I recall correctly, is that the game already has so many upgrade trees, that it literally won't be able to fit much more.  There is a limit to the number of upgrades, so AW figured it would be better to use them up on a unit that isn't so rarely going to be involved.

That's a great idea, unfortunately, I can't think of anyone who'd be up to that.  I haven't even bothered to really check out what is involved in porting it, I may do it some day, but I'm feeling just plain apathetic right now.  So, anyone interested in porting it over, I will gladly send you the scripts for .751.

I assume your blade still acts as if it has hit a torso but the armor rating is insurmountable.  It is basically an invisible person with an armadillo for his legs.

Sorry if this has already been asked but how do you get to barad dur? I can't find any way do so.

You actually have to use a cheat to get there, and when you do the Eye of Sauron yells at you.  I suppose it is "to be implemented later."

You press jump and do an overhead attack in mid-air...I'm not sure what you're thinking, but that's pretty standard...not necessarily useful, but still a standard attack.

I think he'll probably enjoy the .751 version just fine.  Enjoy, please, that's what it was made for.

LOTSL, you said you were working on something for this Mod...more specifically, you were porting it over, correct?  Would you mind either PMing me or updating everyone on your current status?

I had been working on it, but I couldn't figure out how to make it properly work.  I was just going to replace the normal skin with the wookiee textures...but it failed.  So, I was trying to get Highelf to explain how to make it work, but he kept doing other stuff.  It would've been nice if he could've done it as a team member, oh well.

I'll see what I can do about it, though.

I don't think there are problems that have to be tweaked on the menu.  I think the menu is for people who would prefer greater or lesser difficulty.

« on: February 09, 2007, 09:42:19 PM »
Agreed, it all depends on your playing style, that certainly would not be ideal for a lancer.  Also, this is the BEST equipment thread, isn't it?  Not, equipment that I can afford because I don't have enough money for the best stuff.

My playing style, to go with those.  Fast on foot with a two handed sword and a bow to thin out the enemies.  The shield comes in handy when one is charging against archers, and then you pull out the two hander at close range.

On horse, be a horse archer and cleave the hell out of enemy horsemen with timed blows from the Axe.  (It's the easiest way to solo hosts)

Anyway, if you'd like to discuss the Star Wars Mod, this is the place to do so.  We're happy to hear your stories, who knows, it might inspire me, and anyone else working on this.

I appreciate his enthusiasm, regardless of whether it was posted appropriately or not.   :D

I'll create a discussion thread for future use.

Maybe he wanted wookiee armor to be added as a purchasable item?  :)

Honestly, it sounds to me like he'd rather not deal with the whole power rebalancing system.  It gets a lot more complicated then just the numbers and damage when specific factions are built around certain combinations of gear and skills, as they are in this mod, meaning that currently balanced factions will become lopsided.  Gear will have to be completely redistributed and re-evaluated with extensive testing.  It's really hard to judge how that could affect the overall war.  Also, he might be more open to the idea once there is a current release of it that is approved of by the community in a mainstream production like Onin No Ran.

Or he could just be too tired to bother with the forums right now.  Just throwing this out there as a possibility.  I mean, if it works, why fix it?

By the way, your idea does sound really neat.  I'll be excited to see it implemented in ONR.
