Yep u can try it , but it's only a sort of demo , but all faction have their troop tree , lord , location.
If your computer is not so powerfull , it worth the try , if it is powerfull , maybe you can try the Clash of king mod (see on TW forum /caravanserai)

I get to hire Vaegirs in Lannister villages though, and I've got Vaegirs patrolling the cities and guarding the castles. The icons on the map are also a bit messed up (snowy villages all around and stuff, a desert city icon for King's Landing).

The menus for recruiting soldiers are still available to me even though I'm not a noble (test character).
Nothing happens when I use them, though.


Yes the castle recruiting is active in all castle, i know . Normally it's only availlable if u own the castle yourself .
 U can't recuit because when u hit the button, there is a delay before troop is produced and the troop do not go in ur party but in the castle garrison .

Ps if u can take some screen and post them.....

It's not the last version ( i correct the recruitment bug)
 It's not even an alpha but u will see that i have some progress.
Thing that i am aware off:
 The vale faction suks ,
some banner are not correct ( a list is welcome)
I do not remember if i put the right scene.txt, if not the scene are broken . ( i can send u the right txt when u want)
and i got a bug about reinforcement ( already fixed today)
 Some "vassal" troop are nude.

 Try it and say if u think i must continue.

Hmmm Ok i guess it can work. So if I get this right you will only have novice/regular/veteran level for each of the units, and there will be 4 or 5 units for every faction. And where would you recruit knights? Is there going to be special menu in village or in castle for this or something else.

Yes, right now i have only the regular troop in , but it can be upgraded later, that's not difficult to do. There is one speical menu for recruiting troop+knight
 An another one for calling the Landed knight to duty (i was thinking to make this one only appear when the kingdom is at war) maybe i will include the militia in this one.

So before you become lord, your only option for the party are mercenaries and hedge knights? That could make beginning of the game a little bit difficult, unless you make various types of mercenary units and some of them rather affordable in terms of weekly wage(since there is not going to be troop progression tree, mercenary will cost his basic wage throughout the entire game, and that can prove to be quite difficult to pay in the beginning)
Yes it will be hard , just like in westeros reality and u can bribe bandit too.

As i say i am open for the faction specialisation , if u have some idea (with reference)
And now i have the sea travel , i will put the greyjoy as faction, i need info on them .If i remember good they do not use horse, they are not numerous , and based on the Viking?

Riveerland is merged with north  for the moment.
For Vale, they have the best Archer, but honnestly nothing is writting in Rock right now, i can do some change,i am open to all suggestion .

Threre is no troop tree in this mod , i try to stay the more" realist" as i can.
 In the begining, u can olny hire mercenary   (hedge knight are mercenary )  or bribe bandit.
 But when u are lord:
    U can train this unit: Footmen (polearm), sergent ( sword ,axe,....),archer, crossbowmen, Mounted sergent. Each category require differnt amount of money and different time of trainning, the system is alllready working but i need to balance the price and the duration.
   U can hire sworn knight , i made an option for this, u have chance to have some good one or some bad one, randomly. Knight don't require trainnig but they are expencive.
   U can call some vassal to arm, 2 knights (once again randomly choice but they work like a npc hero)and about 20troop will join ur party for a limited duration. (Again it's allready ingame but need some little test and fix)
  Or u can call the militia some peasant will join u .(not in game right now)

As u see the system is more and less finish, but once again i am open to all suggestion.
 Personally i do not like the tree system, for exemple page are not supposed to fight, and sure some Hedge knight will become landed but mosy of them will stay hedge knight.
iI think that the olny good system of tree is  recruit /veteran

Hi thanks for the info .
 Right now , i see  something like that:
  Lannister are the middle troop , they have a very good  equipment
  Reach  are focus on cavalery, they have the best one.
  Dorne is lightl and fast , they have some good spearman ( not so light)
  Storm land have the best close combat infantry

In this version , in all case your character is not from Westeros.
 Son of a exiled Lord , but a very small Lord, someone like Petyr Baelish (his demesne , not his job.)

U can add the skill manually, the Knight attribute are just quick link.
 for exemple
trp_knight1_1 and 1_2 have knigh attribute 5 thats mean they have str_20|agi_20|int_15|cha_25|level(41)
u can simply delete knight_attrib_5 and replace it by str_x|agi_x|int_x|cha_x|level(x) x is the value u want.

Personally i use MnBmodCompanion is light but powerfull.

U should not use txt, all must be done in that way, because of everytime we will add a new scrit ( for recruiting militia) we have to complie the module system. When it complile it generate new troop txt, so u work is erased.

  Simply use the same editor but with python files ( u found them under  Modules\Westeros-PBOD4\Westeros MS) and u need to install python for compiling ( if i can do it , belive me it's easy).
