TLD.808 / Re: TLD: Bug reports and technical issues for 2.4
« on: December 21, 2009, 09:08:14 AM »
Really?  My computer runs 1.011 really well with all of the graphics turned up.  I just installed it to see.  However, I am wondering if my operating system might be at fault.  I am using Windows 7, which I just upgraded to, and it gives me these annoying notices where it tells me I don't have permission to do certain things (which is odd since I am logged on as the Administrator).  I had similar issues with Vista.

Is that within the realm of possibility?

Anyway, I feel as though I may just have to wait until 1.011 comes out.  So, godspeed and good luck.

Posted something to this effect on the main forums.  I don't get any sort of error screens or anything that tells me I did something obviously wrong...but, once I have started a game, and my little dude is all excited to go adventuring and on the map, I click for him to go somewhere, which he does, walking for about a second before turning on some kind of cloaking device and being uncontrollable.  Additionally, only after he has gone into this stealth mode, the Character/ Inventory/ Party buttons will no longer do anything...and all I am able to do is toggle between my Quest Screen, which is interesting, but not enough to keep me captivated for very long, and the world map (rather, just the small section of the world map that my view was on when my dude went ninja stealth on me, since I can't use the WASD to move the map screen).  Also, I can click escape and go to the main menu, but things are still amiss when I return.

Important notes.  I copied all of my files for TLD from one computer to the one now which isn't working right (the specs are much better on the new computer...I don't think it is a graphics issue).  I have version .808 on the computer, and only version .808.  Native works just fine...wonderfully even.  And, TLD works fine until 1 second into the game, where I become invisible.  Interestingly enough, I am clearly moving, and there is time progression as far as I can tell, since it tells me that my invisible dude is starving every once in a while.

Any thoughts?

So...it's settled then.  Beornings will be part of the game and will turn into bears for fun and danger.

Dead mod seems to be the right description.  I've stopped paying attention, but maybe LOTSL will do something with it.

Good luck.

Wow, I haven't even looked at this site in...months.  I'm excited to see that work is still being done on this thing...I've pretty much taken a hiatus from Mount&Blade until the best mod (obviously I'm referring to the one this thread is about) is released for the next version.  Keep up the good work, gentleman.

Why, doesn't mordor have enough 'dead' heroes?
and what's with Edoras? I see like... 50 heroes in there! (actually, about less than 10, but still, what they for?)

Destroy Isengard and the Dunedain's and you'll see.

Dunlendings...as opposed to the people you wouldn't want to eradicate.

^ Wow.

Anyway, Fastred of Eastfold (or whoever is Lord of Eastfold) has been a jerk of late.  My first mission he gave me was "destroy the scouts of Isengard", which I did.  I went back to him sometime several days later and I could only tell him that I was still working on it, or that I was going to give up.  I thought I might've forgotten that I had already reset the mission and received the reward, so I cheated my way to the nearest Isengard Scouts, killed them, and then went back to see if I was being cheated myself.  Sure enough, he didn't acknoweledge that I had slain scouts for him.  So, I clicked the option to cancel the mission...which had 0/12 beside it.  Obviously he told me to stop complaining and get on with my mission.  I checked my influence...I had 12 influence.  So, I gave up and haven't given him the time of day since.

A fighting Uruk-hai would be a level 25 character.  In the module system a troop can be given specific stats that will be reflected in the game, but all the stats not directly specified are filled randomly based on how high their level is.  Meaning that the game probably randomly assigned a high level of riding skill to the Fighting Uruk-hai troops.

You must've pressed the Mount Horses order by accident.  I've seen it happen, too.  Although it can be a delightful surprise when they end up taking down an enemy cavalry man and stealing his horse.

I had possessed the amulet of healing in my inventory, and had been unaware of just how full my inventory was, so I then attempted to possess a mithril hauberk and some other fine Gondorian artifacts.  When I got backto my inventory screen, not only was much of my stuff missing (not including the stuff I just bought), but the amulet was one of those things.  Much to my chagrin, you will find, I decided to rest with the healer and was stopped by an error message after the first hour-in-game passed.  It also informed me that because I had removed the amulet from my inventory that my wound treatment/surgery/other one was -1.  Anyway, this happend a massive number of times, I'm imagining at least 24 as the time passed while I was supposed to be healing.  So, my character, at the end of this terrible healing session, had 0's next to the three skills related to the amulet.  I quit the game and have been afraid to continue playing since, because I suspect that whenever time passes, the same effect will occur.

I am nearly 100% certain that someone has already suggested it, but it might be nice to have a wider variety of armoury items.  More specifically, a legendary polearm (of the swinging variety) for someone who uses polearms or perhaps legendary blunt weapons.  Anyway, I thought it might be kind of awesome to have some of that tossed in the mix.

I couldn't stand doing much more than a cursory glance at all of these posts, so I know someone mentioned this before but claimed it was for version 2.3 and that it was apparently fixed in 2.3.1.  This is an untruth.  Most recently I was aquiring reward items from galadriel and I found that it was in fact giving me influence for the items I desired.  I later went back and tried it again, and it kept giving me influence.

This is mostly to confirm that it hadn't been fixed for 2.3.1...even if you have fixed it for 2.3.2.  It was significant enough that I thought I should mention it.
