Yes, that's been a MnB/Warband feature for a long time.

Scroll down.

Bald elf should be a bug, the dwarf is not. (some helmets disable beards and you can imagine they have them tucked under the mask, or behind their armour. There's too much clipping of the helmet and beard models and it looks awful otherwise.)

Swyter did something to fix trolls iirc, maybe look through the SVN log.

On the top of my head, it seems allowing players to siege is the 'easiest' fix (we are speaking relatively here of course), but making it so that it is quite hard to achieve (e.g high influence point requirements for X amount of factions; maybe high relations with the faction leaders as well [in order to make use of that feature, as it looks like we increase relation with people, but there is no purpose of doing so]; minimum of Y amount of non-fodder troops [if that is even possible to code]; etc)

Really looking forward for your thoughts!

Yes, this is pretty much what I want to do. (and Cpp seems to be the right person to do it, as Swyter feels more comfortable with issues directly related to the port)

That's really interesting. I have never lost before, so I've never encountered this.

I wonder what the original design was if your side was losing. Was there a chance to turn the tide? If they keep respawning, then it would be very hard to push back, no?

Would you happen to remember what the design discussion was during the conceptual phase?

As a part of the war system, this was probably done by GA or MV, I don't think we really discussed this particular part. An obvious solution would be to have the AI ignore the advancement camps and go for their real cities, or having the advancement camps permanently destroyable.
(Somehow I like the first one better, as it seems to make more real world sense.)

Not sure where I've read of this, but it seems like a pretty bad one.
Apparently, when your side is losing the war and the northern or southern theatre is lost and your enemies have the advance camps, it's impossible to burn these camps for good. The guy said he burnt one of them down and it respawned a few moments later.

(it's not a situation most players have been in, but it's definitely possible, so it probably should be happening like that)

Never mind, for all its looks, I forgot how unbalanced this mod is as an actual game.

Gee, thanks.

Anyway, it's a bug, already fixed in the dev build.

I don't think we did either.

@April: hmm, I vaguely recall someone tried that before and it's supposed to work. Yay! \o/;)

@Lucanonn: yes, as April says, you have to download the .brf file, not copy the text.

As I said in the note on DA - the Dunlander camp fix also shifts some of the strings, so some of the troll dialog (which is a joke, kind of an easter egg when you visit the troll cave) gets pushed into other places where it doesn't belong.

Swyter could probably tell you if there's something to do by editing the file, but ATM there is no clean patched version to download. There will be, hopefully soon, once Swyter cracks the formations issues.

If you do, perhaps wait for the upcoming patch, so that you don't run into (many) problems.

Yeah, it's super easy to code in, I'm sure.

It's on my toDo list, AFTER we fix the porting bugs. And IF Swyter decides to stay and help out, or if CppCoder comes back and has the time to do gameplay tweaks.

4GB patch is meaningless as Warband already IS made to handle more memory. The Iron Launcher (as stated in the manual) doesn't do anything else in Warband than playing the intro, so that's not it either.

My guess you're trying to fight against wargs in some shape or form and don't have the quick warg fix Swyter posted to the Trello board.

1) Don't start new threads.
2) Don't start new threads.
3) It helps if you write more about your situation, which version you're playing, if Warband or Mount and Blade, what your computer specs. are and what your ingame settings are. Also, "I tried everything" is useless, we need to know what exactly you tried.

/locking this.
