Title: TLD Christmas Preview
Post by: DaBlade on December 29, 2009, 03:18:02 pm
Llew posted this preview at the Taleworlds forum, so I thought I'd post it here as well.

Quote
Mounted on proud steeds, the Knights of the Citadel defend Minas Tirith with swift stroke and deadly charge. They provide the mounted wing of the armies of Gondor, and fear is struck into the hearts of their foes when they enter the field.

Dúnedain of the South they are called, and they still protect the land from which they take their name. With powerful bow and keen sword, the orcs in Ithilien have learned to fear their sudden attacks, the mark of which are the fell green arrows they always carry.

Meduseld, the Golden Hall. From of old the seat of the Kings of Rohan, it overlooks the rolling grasslands of the horse lords in the shadow of the White Mountains.

A second render, made in imitation of this shot from the Movie (http://www.freewebs.com/areddawn/archesmeduseld.jpg).

And the music preview from pagan:

OK folks, here is your TLD Old Music Christmas PREVIEW!!! *thunderclap* *voice in the distance* "bring out your dead, bring out your dead"

The first minute of the sample, are 2 track snippets from TAKE 1, probably a year old now. the other 3 minutes are 3 track snippets from TAKE 2. You will no doubt hear the difference in quality yourself anyway, and thus have some form if indication as to what TAKE 3 might sound like  which i am currently doing, so even the TLD dev team hasn't heard it.

I hope this eases your minds a little as to the music/atmosphere you will have while playing TLD... or it could cause a total panic hehe

Enjoy

Awesome! (although I didn't expect anything less...)

Judging by the screens you have posted so far, you're not keeping much at all from the old .808 version, are you?

Very, very little. In fact...one or two armors and/or helms touched up? And a shield or three. Maybe some architecture, but I plan on making a lot of new stuff and remaking the stuff of mine that was in the old version.

Thanks guys! I was wondering when you were going to post this here. I got scared that the official forum had changed!

Very, very pretty.  This mod is the one reason I'm still playing M&B at all.  Love the new models for Gondor's troops.  Makes me want to BE a knight of the Citadel :)

Looking forward to the new release.  Also, glad to see someone has taken the initiative to go forward in Ancientwanker's absence.

I think the sun itself speaks of the royalty of the Golden Hall. the sunburst was, IIRC, a symbol taken up by Theoden himself, that was not necessarily associated with Rohan as a whole, but with Theoden and his family.

I think.

So is this just the new version, or the 101/new version? it looks very epic...

It's not 1.011 we're still modding on .808.

Old school.

Actually, we're considering rolling back to 0.700. 0.808 has some really redundant features and is too graphics heavy.

When I have an immediate and strong desire to see an orc, I usually resort to my trusty mirror  :green: Never leave home without
