Windows 7 has some compatibility problems with some graphic programs (catalyst ones  for example) so if you made before  upgrade a compatibilty text it tell you to delete them and reinstall them after upgrade.
I hope this is useful.

Really?  My computer runs 1.011 really well with all of the graphics turned up.  I just installed it to see.  However, I am wondering if my operating system might be at fault.  I am using Windows 7, which I just upgraded to, and it gives me these annoying notices where it tells me I don't have permission to do certain things (which is odd since I am logged on as the Administrator).  I had similar issues with Vista.

Is that within the realm of possibility?

Anyway, I feel as though I may just have to wait until 1.011 comes out.  So, godspeed and good luck.

-Grocat

M&B .808 is heavier on the graphics than 1.011 and TLD makes it even heavier. A lot of laptops which run 1.011 fine can't even load TLD on .808. Can't hurt to play with the graphics setting and see what happens.

Might be something like Ettore mentioned though.

Can somebody please post a clear step-by-step on how to install this game?? I have played it before but I have the same issues installing it. Unclear threads and directions. It was some time ago when I played it...but PLEASE some one dont refer me to more threads or anything, just copy and paste a clear and direct step-by-step on what to do. First for starters. Should I just install 808 right off the bat, and not bother with installing 1.011 or what ever version they got now. I am going to go ahead and install it now that I think about it...from that point on please tell me what to do...I have the TLD file and I am going to move it to my documents folder for safe keeping, or should I go ahead and delete that and re-install it. Thats what I have been doing, every time I start it and it doesnt work, I exit out of it, and move the TLD folder to my doc. since it takes forever to download..lol..

I end up using the search function for you Roll Eyes

Hey Dablade, thanks for the link but unfortunately un-installing everything is out of the question for me.

As I've mentioned before I am using my brothers computer to do my computing... and he doesn't really care much for TLD.
But he does like M&B native and has a high level guy on it and so I can't do anything unless it doesn't jepordise his hard worked character.

So thats why I ask can I install .808 over .902 without having to uninstall .902.

(P.S we don't have .903 because like I said, high level guy.)

No, don't do that, it won't work.

Do as follows:

1- Rename the current Mount&Blade folder to something like Mount&Blade_902 (just add "_902" to the name).
2- Install M&B .808 (make a full install, not an update). Besides the Mount&Blade_902 folder, you'll have a new Mount&Blade folder too (.808).
3- Now, install TLD (it will go to the new M&B folder, which is .808).
4- After you installed TLD, rename your new Mount&Blade folder to something like Mount&Blade_808.
5- Now rename your Mount&Blade_902 folder back to Mount&Blade.
6- Go to your Mount&Blade_808 folder and look for the "mount&blade.exe" file. Rename it to something like M&B_808.exe. Now right-click on it and select "send to desktop (create shortcut)". You'll have two M&B shortcuts on your desktop now; one named "Mount&Blade" which will be the .902 version, and another one named "shotcut to M&B_808.exe" which will be the .808 version (you can rename it to something shorter like "M&B_808" if you wish).
7- Go play TLD and have fun Wink

EDIT: It probably sounds more complicated than it is, just make sure you follow the instructions carefully and you'll have both M&B versions runing in less time than it takes to write these instructions.

Hi everyone,

I'm not new to M&B, but I am new to The Last Days.  I rolled back M&B to .808 to play it, and it looks like an amazing mod; however, constant CTD's are completely ruining it for me.

I've never had any trouble running Mount and Blade at all, and have always been able to run it at 1024 x 768 resolution with the texture slider at 100.  When I installed TLD, I could no longer do that.  No problem, I thought.  I'll just tweak the graphics until it works.

Several hours of experimentation later, I'm at the lowest possible texture and resolution settings, every graphics option in the game disabled, battle size down to 10, and the game still takes eons to start up and crashes randomly when I try to enter a town.  No error messages, just CTD after CTD.  Profoundly irritating.  I've also tried the available low-res texture packs to no avail.

I've got a P4, 2 GHz, 256 MB RAM.  I'd be grateful for some assistance.

You can't roll it back to .808, you'll have to make a fresh .808 installation. You may still have issues because you should have at least 1Gig of RAM. My graphics card has more RAM than your computer... Tongue

Do as follows:

1- Uninstall all.

2- Install .808 and then any mod for .808 version. Then, rename the folder to something like "Mount&Blade_808". If you want to create a desktop shortcut, rightclick on the "mount&blade.exe" file and rename it to something like "mount&blade_808.exe". Then you can rightclick again and select "send to desktop (create shortcut)"; this shortcut will always launch M&B .808.

3- Install .89x. then you'll have both the default M&B shortcut in your desktop (which will launch the latest version), and the shortcut you created before which will launch .808 version. Any M&B update will target the latest version (because you changed the .808 folder name), so you'll always have your .808 installation no matter whatever updates you install in the future.

4- Have fun Wink

5- If 4 doesn't work, buy yourself some more RAM. Tongue

You need to know the basics on how to handle files and folders and how to install and uninstall stuff to do this kind of thing. If you can't handle that, there's nothing I can do to help you. I'm not going to start a tutorial on how to move stuff and rename folders Tongue

So install the normal M&B and install .808 into that file and rename the entire file Mount&Blade.808?

This is what I gathered from that

1: Install the normal MB
2: Install .808 (I dont know which file thou..)
3: rename the entire file MB_.808 or something
4: launch .808 and it should work?

I'm not doing nothing more untill I know for sure lol I've tried over 12 times.

No, no, no, no.

Let's start from the beginning. You need to know what a folder is before you proceed.

1- Uninstall any version of M&B you might have in your computer, it's better like this. I hope you know how to do that.
2- Make sure the M&B folder in Program Files is gone. In case it isn't delete it. I hope you know how to use the explorer to look for that folder.
3- Install M&B .808: double-click on the Installer (mountandblade_0808_setup.exe) . Wait for the installation process to finish.
4- Install TLD: double-click on the Installer (TLD.exe or something like that) and it will detect where all files should go. Wait for the installation to finish.
4b- Or in case you already have an unpacked folder named TLD, just move it to the Modules folder inside your M&B folder (C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules). In the end you should have the TLD folder next to the Native folder inside Modules.
5- Launch M&B and select TLD as the module you want to play.
6- Have fun.

No, there's nothing wrong with TLD. You just need to install it propperly.
