What is the Perennial Nuisance?

The perennial Nuisance is a Mod for Mount and Blade based in India. It centres around the heyday of the East India company, the time Between Plassey and the formation of the Raj. Initially it will only involve the Mysore and Maratha wars, however eventually I would like to encompass the French/Indian war, The Burmese war, The Opium wars, the Sikh wars, The Afghan wars and the Sepoy uprising.

All significant troops of the British army and the East India company army as well as the Mysore and Maratha Kingdoms will be joinable, playable and recruitable.

We hope to make use of, and eventually improve the M&B siege and formations as well as making a war system suitable to the period. Artillery it seems will be available in the next version, so with any luck this too will figure soon in the game.

How do we intend to improve the siege?
The siege will be broken into three sections.
1) Starve (same process as native), longest method.
2) Escalade (much like the current siege), fastest method.
3) Breach (use cannon to knock a hole in the castle/town wall), medium speed method.

How do we intend to improve the formations?
1) Cavalry have no formation at the moment. This will be remedied.
2) Horse archers are erratic, once again, this will be remedied.
3) Enemy troops do not use formations, elementary formation (grouping rather than running pell melll) will be implemented.

What war system?
Nothing too fancy, not really a proper war sytem, it will be mainly to represent the passage of time over a campaign, for instance you are unable to besiege a certain city until a previous one has been taken (to make you run along the timeline) after a faction is defeated there will be a new enemy (for instance after Mysore was defeated in 1799 four years later hostilities broke out with the Marathas, so in game after the Mysore capitol falls we'll skip the 4 years peace and let the Marathas go hostile to the EIC and royal army). This means you will have autonomy to fight map enemies and follow missions, however the main story line will progress along the historical timeline.
The current M&B NPC interfighting will work well too, although army's will be much more scarce.

How do we invisage artillery?
1) Whether or not artillery will be viable for anti troop use is yet to be seen, fingers crossed though.
2) Artillery will be used extensively in siege situations.

Hussey, you mentioned you would make flag carriers for both sides. Are the flags done, or do you want me to make flags? Incase you do, I've already finished them with textures, looks a bit sloppy though, so I want to animate it to look like the wind is affecting it, but I don't know how.

Thanks Jlgx :) And I trashed my flags. You have made better flags than me. But I think your flags (not the stick) are too small. The flags at that time were usually as big as a 12 year old child maybe, but that's your decision :)

Hussey, what's actually remaining for the mod now? Only the textures for the models or do you still have to script and all that?

Nice flags Jlgx50. You should edit the French flag though. The mud hut needs a more detailed texture!
