Warg riders - I've had this issue twice trying to fight them with an all foot army.  They constantly stay out of range, never get into their own thrown weapon range, and after several minutes of watching them just ride around I gave up and charged them (I was outnumbered it was suicide).

The Dale special item Garlic doesn't seem to add on its wound treatment bonus. My cauldron, smith's hammer and fall of Gondolin all seem to be working properly.

Also, it appears only Thranduil knows how to sit down.

hehe, yes, he's the king and that's his personal throne. we need to ban other npcs from using that entry :)

Love the mod so far. Few things I noticed:

1. The food delivery quest takes Lembas along with other food, which it probably shouldn't.

Heh, I went and got Lembas from the elves in Mirkwood, thought: "Cool, +30 morale." and then went and asked for a quest from the town, he wants 4 units of food - I accept and give him it - he takes my Lembas back. D'oh!

2. Dwarves and humans can put on mirkwood armor. Not sure if the humans were intended, but dwarves obviously weren't - it doesn't conform to the model, so it ends up looking rather odd. a bug, will be fixed in first patch

3. The mirkwood armors are ridiculously powerful and cheap. The "light mail and surcoat" has an armor of 52 and only costs around 900, better and cheaper than anything else I've seen.  The reason I'm thinking this is a bug is a variety of other light armors are for sale at the same price with much less armor, like light woodelf scale is 30. Strangely the quilted surcoat is 42, which by appearance shouldn't be as good as the scale. yes, a miss. anyway, most of the items are balanced at best crudely so far. many more patches to come

In comparison, the best dwarf armor (scale over mail) only gives 40. The high end Dale armor is only 30. Both are priced at about 4x the Mirkwood armors.

I think Moria has some bug or just I'm the one who can't escape...

It happened like this, I went to Moria and find the secret path to the Door of Moria, I entered, beat some Goblins, then in a room where placed three tombs, one of them have a skeleton of Dwarf holding a book in front of it, I took the book, it's a copy of "Play Dwarf", then I lost in Moria while reading it(cute, I'm an elf BTW), then I must find a way out, I tried couple of hours, and use my arrows as mark in the maze like dungeon, finally, I found a gate which said "retreat battle", I press F key and lost in reading the book again, if I press Tab key, nomatter I surrender to orcs(I think Moria is ruled by Goblins or my memory deceived me) or not, I lost the book just found.

So is this a bug or I don't find the right way?
It's a bug, will be fixed in first patch. For now Moria is too perilous for good characters

still chugging away and having a blast.  so my poor uruk suffered a head wound, and upon recovery, it appears i ended up with 1 in every intelligence skill?  i'm sure, for example, i didn't have any points in training and yet now i seem to have awoken with new training powers.  quite the bump on the head!

i also started a dwarf in erebor and my starting armor extended waay over my head, with phantom arms pumping as i ran and everything.  believe it was mirkwood leather?  i can doublecheck if you need me to.
you started with as a dwarf with mirkwood armor? hm.. can't replicate here, my dwarf starts with proper dwarf one. Try restarting and see if something changes. MB sometimes throws strange bugs on first start, we could not determine the cause yet. It's not the code, cause in subsequent starts everything turns out to be fine

Moria Hosts defeated - Faction update bug
« Reply #67 on: November 02, 2011, 02:06:31 am »
I am playing Meron Windus, an Elf, and I assisted one of my Elven lords in destroying the Goblin Chief's host and several war parties and scouts of Moria. Altogether, it was about 200 elves against 500 of them. Needless to say, we wiped them out with our machine guns. After destroying such a large number of goblins, the faction strength update should have shown up. Instead, this did:

Are trees supposed to be looking like this? Or is there something wrong?

Playing on DX7? Don't, it's not tested at all.

Sorry, what is DX7??

Direct X versions MnB can use are 7 and 9. We didn't think anyone would even use 7 in this day and age. These versions use completely different shaders and DX7 most likely won't work.

Check your MnB settings to see which one you're using.

And are messages supposed to look this way?

I have uninstalled all of MB and re-installed the enhanced version, but no change...

By ulrich1974 at 2011-11-02

some of the files were not copied properly, either shaders (my guess), or the font file. Had this one in closed beta, copying files properly fixed it.
This is definitely DX7 chosen in video options at MB launch. Choose DX9 instead

Hi, congratulations for releasing the mod.

Bug(?):
Thranduil's royal spearmen and royal swordsmen use the archer-AI, i.e. they form up in the archer line and not in the shield wall. Also the royal spearmen either don't have a spear or don't seem to use it, but use their knifes instead.
Yeah, bug - archer flag was set for troops :) Fixed in next patch, thanks.

Thanks very much - I had no idea my MB was running on DX7... changed it to 9. That sorted the trees, but now unfortunately the river looks like this...

By ulrich1974 at 2011-11-02

MnB does this on Nvidia cards, I had it myself. Simple solution - turn off antialiasing in MnB. If you want to have the game with AA, you can set it on in your GPU's drivers. (you can even set a specific profile setting just for MnB)

(also this exact issue has been asked and resolved on the 2nd page of the thread.)

Thank you and sorry for not spotting it....!!!

Cair Andros is under attack by Khand. I'm a "Hero of Gondor [10]", so I feel a responsibility to help.

I can enter the castle just fine, but when I actually enter battle, the game crashes. I'm not sure if it's Cair Andros or all siege defenses, as Cair Andros would be the first siege scenario I'd ever played. It gives me a "Runtime Error" and then kicks me out of the game.
Does lowering graphics settings + switching off corpses and ragdolls help? Try minimal settings first. Sieges definitely can be battled

Edit: Thank you, it works perfectly from start to finish now.

I've done a manual install and everything else seems to work. I haven't had many problems before - except crashing in big battles and getting error messages whenever I kill Mordor lords.

I think it's minor bug but it is:

Tranduil's Royal Swordsman and Tranduil's Royal Spearman from Mirkwood army are assigned to archer line (they stand and move with archers) instead of infantry line. yup, already fixed in dev version

BTW great mod, I didn't tell it before but I didn't ever play so good mod till now :) Thank You guys
