Just to continue on the subject; I would like an official CW Mini-mod, which could later grow to become a Major Mod.
For example:
- 2 factions (CIS and Galactic Republic)
- each has 2-3 planets and maybe 5 or 6 space stations or other equivalents
- Clone troop tree for the Republic and droids for the CIS
- some other small stuff
- heads could be the style of the CW animated series (2008-present, not 2003)
I'd be happy to work on this, since my contributions to SWC are ok, but I prefer working on CW Era stuff.

You could start playing arround with the code, and take out the Empire and Rebels, and add the CIS and the Republic.
The Republic uses red as main colour, and CIS uses blue. Give them both planets and, If I see somth out of canon, I'll tell you.

I agree it would be cool and probably pretty easy to make a clone wars version, and it would be good to do at some point. But the main problem is the code base is going to be constantly changing, so if you build a mod based on 0.8.7 you'd have to re-do it every release, etc. I think it makes sense to concentrate on getting a good, stable, fairly complete, 1.0 version of SWC. Once that happens it should be pretty easy to take that code base and make a official clone wars version. The guy in the other forum was nice and has locked his thread, and if somebody wants a copy of the source code to play around for their personal use then that is fine, but right now I'd say lets concentrate on SWC a little longer, etc.

Yeah i agree, once SWC is to a stage of stability then look into different eras for mini mods.

As far as I can see, SWC is pretty stable, but you guys just keep adding new stuff to the mod, thus eliminating the option of ever having a 1.0 version ^^
The idea would not be to be CW version of SWC, but a standalone mod.
Not every change in SWC should be adjusted in the CW version, only the ones necessary for a stable game (for example: no CTDs)

i definately think we should forget about any other mods for other eras till AT LEAST 1.0 comes out! there's already enough Clone Wars era stuff in the mod as it is to satiate those avid Clonefanboys

I have to agree with Hokie, specially when there are lots left to do. Just imagine the space battles implementation.

A feature I find ambitious, but not necessary for a CW mod (or even for the SWC mod as far as I care, if I want to play space battles, there's a smorgasbord of other [and better] games out there, some even very cheap)

Once there's version 1.0, or later if necessary, I'll help Peralta work on a CW mod if we'll still be up for it. Until then, I think it'd be nice to get sth to do with SWC, I don't contribute at all anymore.

I would really prefer if someone would just continue where the original Clone Wars Mod stopped. I really liked the concept of having only one planet and Jedi only as Lords/Player Character.
Makes getting it immersive a lot easier.
And that way people have a reason to play both mods. Creating a Clone Wars Mod that doesn't change anything besides the setting is like cutting your own flesh. You will definitely lose a major part of SWC's playerbase.

I really like this idea and I'm willing to do it, but the last update of that mod was in april 09, so I don't know whether we can obtain all of its source and resources.
Just as an inquiry: who would be with me on a mod like that?
EDIT: I took a look at the Star Wars: The Rise of the Clone Wars thread, and I think we could use most of their features, but we'd have to decide which planet to base it on.
ANother idea that came to mind was having different planets represented, and them be sepparated by large chunks of space and you'd need a starship to travel in space (a bit like ships and sea in other MnB mods), but we could forget about that one for the time being and focus on 1 planet at first
